Tomorrow my little Tanner is 6 years old!
It is amazing how fast time flies when your busy being a mommy. It really does seem like yesterday that he was born.
I picked this picture of him because right now, it is as Tanner as you can get. The scraped up, dirty face, that poor little black tooth that refuses to fall out, the cheesy smile and those cute little squinty eyes. He is a very happy kid and truly a joy in our family.
Tanner has been counting down to this birthday since last Thanksgiving. He has been so excited for it to finally come. All he wanted was a green Bionicle and a bell for his scooter. Pretty easy to please. He lucked out with both and was the happiest kid in town. Good thing for Grandmas who take special orders.
When I asked him some things that he can do now that he is six, here is the list that he came up with.
He can walk to a friends house all by himself.
He can use the telephone without any help.
He can stand on his head.
He can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without tearing the bread.
He can make a fort out of our picnic table. (I do not love this one.)
He can read.
He can write his name really good.
He doesn't cry when he has to get shots.
He can do hard chores for our family.
He is very good at adding and subtracting numbers. (this one is really true, he is a math wiz!).
He is very nice to Nora. (the dog)
He always shares with his brothers and helps babysit Weston and Lucy.
He is can go to Disneyland.
He can build Legos almost as good as Kaden.
He can tie his shoes.
He can pour his own cereal.
He gets to go to first grade.
His best friend is Luke.
He is really good at video games.
He still doesn't like mashed potatoes, maybe when he is seven.
Happy Birthday Tanner! We love you so much. I hope all your days are as happy and easy going as they are right now.
