We had a awesome 4th of July! I think it is one of my favorite holidays.
We spent the day with family and had a "homemade" theme.
Homemade root beer, homemade ice cream, homemade pumpkin cobbler and homemade fun. The kids had a blast doing water activities all day. It was so hot, no one cared a bit about being soaking wet, (except my little Kaden who DOES NOT like wet clothes, he can dish it, but he can't always take it ;) We had plans to maybe brave the crowds at a park for some "real" fireworks, but instead we got a 40.00 dollar box at the supermarket and had just as much fun.

Bubbles kept everyone busy for a long time until one of the little guys got a great idea to dump their bubbles in the pool. Soon all the kids were enjoying a "bubble bath."
Sarah brought each of the kids a squirt bottle. These worked way better than any squirt gun.
Homemade root beer! A little redneck-ish but super yummy!
Super awesome water balloon fight!
Checking out the fire works. Tanner went all day without his shirt. Again, a little redneck-ish, but he was happy.

Here's what 40.00 bucks will get you as far as fireworks go. Pretty exciting!

Various firework love. Or non-love in Tanner's case.
What Lucy thought of it all. I cannot believe she slept through the fireworks. I guess that's what happens when you live with a house full of super loud brothers.
