It's been a year and a half since my last post....wowza!
Time flies when you're living your life.
But here's to starting again with vows of doing better, right?
We bought a trampoline..something Kent vowed NEVER to do....and it has been a life saver.
Bored? Go jump on the tramp!
Hot? Put the sprinklers under the tramp!
Wanna sleep outside? Throw some sleeping bags on the tramp!
Even the smallest of us have found joy on the trampoline. (Although to be honest, this kid is fantastic because he thinks EVERYTHING is hilarious....he makes you feel like a million bucks with his smile)
It's been very hot and dry this year, rumor is we are gearing up for another major drought. I suppose one can't complain if one lives in a desert but I love the rain and the cool. We did have a storm a few weeks ago. It lasted about 23 minutes! Lucy took it quite seriously and geared up when I asked her to check the mail. The stick is so she won't slip and fall in a puddle.....can you tell we don't get much rain?
Last weekend we went camping with some friends. It is SO MUCH STINKING WORK getting 4 kids and all our stuff up a mountain but we had a really good time. Minus one 4am barf/pee fest from our sweet little Lucy. Someday we are going to learn if you let your kids stuff themselves with s'mores and soda 20 mins before bed.... disastrous results are inevitable. We camped at almost 9000 ft so I was worried about the cold but turns out, it was perfect weather. Cooler at night, and warm during the days, good sitting around the fire and looking at stars kinda weather.
Plus this was our view:
Every summer my in-laws head up the mountain for a really fun ham radio event and all the families try to go up for at least the day. With crazy schedules it's rare for everyone to be there at the same time, but this year for about 1 hour, all the Oaks cousins were together! 10 points for us for getting everyone to stay together long enough to snap a few pictures.
We also got some happy/sad news this summer....Kent's brother and his family are moving to Colorado. We've been spoiled having everyone so close and we are really going to miss them. =( Its a great move and we are glad they are going on a grand adventure but sad because Lucy and her cousin have so much fun together.
